Partnering up to put North Tulsa on the map

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

So a friend or family member recommends this great place and now you’ve got to check it out. Naturally, you pick up your phone and start to search for more information on Google but it’s not there. It’s a disappointing feeling but it’s one that we’ve all come across at some point.

In fact, a recent Intergrowth study reports 86% of people look up the location of a business on Google Maps. They also reported that 76% of people who search for a business nearby visit within 24 hours. These numbers show that getting businesses on the map is a major part of helping them reach their goals.

Here in Tulsa this is a problem that impacts the North Tulsa community the most. When Websites4Good realized there was a need to get North Tulsa businesses on Google Maps, they organized an event to do just that. With the help of organizations Builders + Backers, Heartland Forward, Accenture and Oasis Fresh Market, Websites4Good is holding a Google Maps Pop Up event. Which will be held at North Tulsa's recently opened Oasis Fresh Market.

Business owners, or managers are welcome to attend the free event, where they can learn how having a Google listing will positively impact their business. But most importantly, they’ll be able to actually get their business on the map. The organization is even offering a $500 cash prize to two participants.

Websites4Good requires nothing to attend this event other than showing up. Their main goal is to help bridge the digital marketing gap that many BIPOC individuals face when starting a business. Representation is important, and if a business is not online, then they’re not being represented.

Are You Ready to Get Your Business On the Map?

The North Tulsa Business Page Pop-up event is on August 28, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the E-Suite, located in the Shoppes on Peoria, 1717 N Peoria. For more information email hello@websites4good.com, or log on to Facebook and look for Websites4Good.
